Jets and Outflows From Advective Accretion Disks
نویسنده
چکیده
Jets and outflows must be produced directly from accretion disks and inflows, especially when the central gravitating objects are compact, such as neutron stars and black holes, and themselves are not mass losing. Here, we review the formation of jets from advective inflows. We show that the centrifugal pressure supported boundary layer (CENBOL) of the black holes may play crucial role in producing outflows. CENBOL is not present in Keplerian disks. Thus energetic jet formation is directly connected to sub-Keplerian flows close to compact objects. Effect of the temperature profile of the accretion disk on the structure of jets and outflows around protostars
Magnetic fields play an important role in creating, driving, and in the evolution of outflows and jets from protostars and accretion disks. On the other hand, the temperature profile of the accretion disks may also affect the structure of the magnetic field and outflows. In this paper, we use the self-similar method in cylindrical coordinates to investigate the effect of the temperature profile...
متن کاملThe Role of Thermal Conduction in Accretion Disks with Outflows
In this work we solve the set of hydrodynamical equations for accretion disks in the spherical coordinates (r,θ,ϕ) to obtain the explicit structure along θ direction. We study a two-dimensional advective accretion disc in the presence of thermal conduction. We find self-similar solutions for an axisymmetric, rotating, steady, viscous-resistive disk. We show that the global structure of an advec...
متن کاملOn Radiative Acceleration of Jets and Outflows from Advective Disks
Jets and outflows are known to form out of advective accretion flows around black holes. Hard photons from the centrifugal barrier directly hit the electrons and deposit momentum on them. For optically thick flows such deposition is not efficient, but for optically thin flows matter could be accelerated to relativistic speed. In fact, even bound matter could be made free through successive depo...
متن کاملMagnetohydrodynamic Origin of Jets from Accretion Disks
A review is made of recent magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) theory and simulations of origin of jets from accretion disks. Many compact astrophysical objects emit powerful, highly-collimated, oppositely directed jets. Included are the extra galactic radio jets of active galaxies and quasars, and old compact stars in binaries, and emission line jets in young stellar objects. It is widely thought that t...
متن کاملLaunching of Poynting Jets from Accretion Disks
The jets observed to emanate from many compact accreting objects may arise from the twisting of the magnetic field threading a differentially rotating accretion disk which acts to magnetically extract angular momentum and energy from the disk. Two main regimes have been discussed, hydromagnetic outflows, which have a significant mass flux and have energy and angular momentum carried by both mat...
